How do I request a call?
Phone support is available on the Pro plan and above as scheduled calls. You can request a call directly from the top right menu in the Builder:
Select a date and time that works for you, and an appointment will be made with a member of our support team.
How do I remove the ‘Powered by Knack’ logo at the bottom of my app?
White labeling your app would remove the 'Powered by Knack' link at the bottom of your app. This feature is included in our Pro plan and above. You can see what features are offered in each plan level by visiting our Pricing page.
Is Knack Secure?
Security of your data is of the utmost importance to us.
To ensure your data is secure at all times, all data is encrypted at rest as well as in transit. This means even if someone were able to access the data through an attack of some sort, it is indecipherable.
Additionally we use the highest security options available via Amazon Web Services. AWS is considered an industry leader in cloud services and is trusted by organizations like DOW Jones, Pfizer, and the CDC.
Finally, secure user access is a feature we recommend using on all apps. This prevents open access to data and requires users to authenticate to access restricted areas of the application.

Storing sensitive data (credit cards, social security numbers, etc.)
Generally, we don't recommend storing data like credit cards or SSNs due to their sensitive nature. With this said, we do have customers that store SSNs based on the level of encryption that we currently offer. Ultimately, you're responsible for the storage of any sensitive data added to your database.
Further, if you are storing sensitive data like social security numbers, we do offer a HIPAA plan which you can read more about here.
Freeze/Pause Knack account
If you need to pause your account, we have a 'freeze' option to allow you to set your account on standby without losing anything for a reduced price.
Freezing your account means you have no access to the database/interface, however, all data and views are retained should you choose to reactivate the account. It is also important to note that the freeze option can only be used once a year.

Note: For security reasons, we cannot freeze your account for you. You will need to do this yourself from your Account Settings in the Knack Builder.
Cancel Knack account
You can cancel your Knack subscription at any time from your Dashboard at http://builder.knack.com/#delete.
As another option, we do offer a Freeze your account plan which can be done from the "Account" tab in the Knack Dashboard. This will allow you to set your account on standby without losing your app and data for a reduced price.
Note: For security reasons, we cannot delete your account for you. You will need to do this yourself from the Knack Builder.
Need access: account owner or colleague left company
Unfortunately, we cannot change the account owner; that can only be done from within the Knack Builder after logging in.
This is a situation that has come up in the past, and two routes have worked for other customers:
- Reaching out to the former employee to have him/her login and change those credentials.
- Accessing the former employee's email (the one attached to the Knack account) in order to reset the password using this reset link, then logging in with the new password and changing the account owner.
Note: For security reasons, we're prevented from altering or even accessing the account owner details.
What is a dedicated support manager?
A Dedicated Support Manager will work with you one-on-one to provide guidance as you build and maintain your app(s). They will know your requirements, goals, and apps so you’re not having to explain those each time you need help.
Your support requests will be automatically sent to your dedicated support manager and you will have direct access to their calendar for scheduling calls. Of course, if your dedicated support manager is out of the office, the rest of the team will be available to help you, so you’re never without someone to help.
Dedicated Support Managers are available on the Corporate plan and above.
Does Knack offer a partner program?
We work with quite a few business consultants to help them provide great database solutions for their clients.
There are a few different ways you can partner with Knack, depending on how you prefer to work with your customers:
Establish an account on the Pro plan giving you the ability to develop "white label" apps on behalf of your clients.
You would cover the cost of the Pro plan and would be able to charge your users for any services in building or accessing the apps.
Your clients could still access these apps at your Knack.com URL or by embedding them on their websites.
This is preferable if you want to keep complete control of your customers and handle all billing and support.
You can also have each client set up their own Knack account.
We would handle all billing (and support if needed), and you could charge for any setup, consultation, or add-on services you provide.
By referring clients to become Knack customers you will earn a 25% commission on monthly recurring plan revenue for the lifetime of the account. In order to receive commissions, you'll need to register as an Affiliate.
If you are interested in working with Knack customers who are looking for additional help, you can apply for the Builder Network.
You can view jobs submitted by Knack customers and bid on the jobs you'd like to work on. If the Knack customer chooses your bid you can work directly with the client. You would work out any project and payment details with the client once accepted. We simply serve as a medium to connect you.
Of course, we're happy to consider any ideas on how we can work together! We value our partners very highly and are certainly open to any suggestions you may have. These are just a few ways we've found that have worked in the past.

Is Knack GDPR compliant?
We can confirm that all Knack accounts which house data in these EU data centers will comply with the GDPR when it becomes enforceable on May 25, 2018. You can read more about what that includes here.
