Each image or file field can hold only one image/file per record, but you need to store a variable number of images/files for a single record.
Example: You have an online store for selling products and need to be able to show pictures of each product from multiple angles.
- An existing object with records that you want to store multiple images for. In this example, it’s the “Products” object.
These steps will cover how to use a connected object to store multiple images for individual records.
Create a New Object
In the Data section of the builder, create a new object that we’ll call “Images.”
Add an Image field to the object and remove the default short text field. You may also want to add an Auto Increment (or similar) field to provide a unique identifier for each record:
Add a Connection Field
In the Images object, add a new connection to the Products object. Each image can connect with one product and each product can connect with multiple images:
Create a Form
In the Pages section of the builder, create a new form to allow users to add images to a specific product. In this example, we’ll add an “Add Image” form to the Product Details page:
In the video we set the form to automatically reload, so that users could continue to add more images as needed.
Displaying the Connected Images
In the Pages section of the builder, you can create a view that displays all the connected images for a specific product. In this example, we will add a List view to the Product details page:
Voila! You now have multiple images stored for each individual product that can be displayed:
